This is a pretty cool piece -- it's a candle holder designed to look as if it were made from an old metal grain scoop.
The base is wooden and the top is tin sheeting with a star S-shape design. Both elements have been painted with a sort of grayed creamy color, darker than eggshell, maybe it could more appropriately be considered as a wash. The finish has been highly distressed with sanding and there are even some chips and a couple of small dents. Looks like this thing went through a workout over the years. But that's the way we like 'em! :)
The candle holder stands about 7 3/4" tall with a diameter of about 4". The inner candle well will accommodate a taper of 1 3/4" or a votive container with a base about that size. Although the well is lined with a metal piece, I'd still recommend if you're going to actually burn a candle in this one to use a glass container for safety. Remember, never leave a burning candle unattended!
