Primitive treenware bowl lamp is molded from resin. The item is new but is manufactured to appear as if it's been around a long time.
It's a fairly heavy piece piece for its size, measuring about 8 inches in diameter. The inside of the bowl is approximately 2 1/2 inches deep which allows plenty of room for fillers such as potpourri and fixins.
The finish is rough, uneven and blemished in spots. Repro treenware is made by making a mold of an old original piece. When the item is cast from the mold, the original scratches, chips and flaws are reproduced. I'm not able to say whether this particular piece was made from a piece of treenware but it's certainly well done either way.
The bowl has a satin black finish which permits the old gold basecoat underneath to show through. The lamp has a brown cord with an on-off switch and comes with a silicone tipped bulb. Replacement bulbs should only be 5 watt.
