Very cool rusty tin metal taper candle holder for primitive or colonial decorating measures about 9 1/2 inches tall. The sides are heavy duty sturdy wire attached to a ring at the top and a fluted base at the bottom. It has a great rusted finish and crudely done welds.
The candle well is about 7/8 of inch in diameter which is too narrow for the grungy battery operated tapers that we carry from Hearthside. I tried one of the 6-inch battery candles in it and it just sat on top, didn't go down into the well at all and the tip of the flame ran into the top of the candle holder.
My best guess would be that none of the battery operated tapers would fit being that they're all about the same size if they run on AA batteries.
If you're going to use battery candles with this one, I'd recommend the 4 1/2 inch ones but I think that a genuine grungy beeswax tavern taper would probably be best. That said, it would be wise to use this one for decorative purpose only being that the bottom of the holder is sloped downward and the wax would drip right off.
