Nicely done rusty tin lantern measures about 9 1/2 inches tall. The lantern can hang from its heavy duty wire handle or would look great sitting on a cabinet or shelf too.
The globe is lightweight glass. The top of the lantern slides up along the handle allowing enough room for the globe to be removed. The little platform on the base is about 2 inches in diameter, room enough to accommodate an average size votive or tealight.
I probably wouldn't recommend burning a wax votive in this one unless it's in a small enough container to slip under the glass but a tealight would probably fit. Looks like there are enough holes in the top of the lid to allow a candle to burn okay but why bother with a potential waxy mess when there are some very cool battery operated tealights out there? :)
The finish on this lantern is rusted and blackened. The item is brand new but has been manufactured to appear as if it's been around for a long, long time. A very nice accent piece, a product from The Hearthside Collection. Imported.
