Kinda like rusty heart cutout shapes but different. :D
These tin metal heart-shaped cutouts measure about 1 5/16 of an inch tall and a tad over 1 1/8 inch at the widest part. The hearts have some dimension to them -- the backs of the hearts lie flat and the fronts curve outward the tiniest bit, not much, I'd say less than 1/8 of an inch, but they definitely have a 2-D quality.
They're about the same thickness of the rusty tin pieces with which we're familiar but these hearts have a deep red satin finish to them. Please keep in mind that colors in photographs can vary when viewed on different systems. I consider these to be a deep barn red, maybe even bordering on burgundy.
Now I haven't used any of these 2-D hearts on any of my own projects yet but I've thought about the ways that they'd have to be attached. There's no hole in these so that's out. While the metal may indeed be thin enough to nail or drill through, both would have to be done with considerable caution to keep the heart from flattening out. The method that I'd probably try would be to simply glue the heart to my project. The surface of the underside of the heart is smooth so I probably wouldn't rely on hot glue for a solid bond. I'd go with one of those adhesives made for smooth metal surfaces like Goop. Anyhoo, if you have success with anything let me know and I'll publish it here so that others can try it too.
These rustic metal 2-D hearts come new from Darice, packaged as shown with 10 pieces to each package.
