This decorative carved star service plate would make a very nice base for a pillar candle.
It's a smaller size -- at 5 3/4 inches in diameter it's about the same size as a saucer that you might place under a coffee cup. It has a wooden feel but is molded from a resin compound. The finish on this item is very rustic. There's a creamy tan overcoat which is thin and allows the darker color underneath to show through. The rim of the plate has a carved star design.
The plate is designed to appear old and worn. It's purely decorative and is not intended for use with food. I've found that the best method of cleaning these resin compound items is with a damp cloth.
