I'm not 100 per cent crazy about these and I'll tell you why in a moment but if you've got a nut-less squirrel or some other reason to have a phony acorn, these really aren't too bad.
They're a plastic-film covered foam core with the cap shapes molded right into them. I kinda like the way the caps were done with the rustic coating of sawdust covering them but that's exactly the part with which I'm not totally happy.
I think it could have been a very artistic way to decorate the caps but they're done so sloppily, wow. Have a look at one of the closeup photos below and you can see where one of the caps is just about bald. All of the packages that we have here have at least one where the cap has a bald spot.
Now, with that all out of the way I'll give you the things that are good about these. They ARE somewhat realistic looking. The colors are shaded and natural as are the shapes. Each package has a mix of some 1-inch long chubbier ones and 1 1/2-inch more elongated ones.
I don't list any item that I wouldn't use myself. For floral or craft projects where the acorn itself is not the sole focus, these will do just fine. If your project will have folks staring directly at the acorn thinking that the caps are screwed up, I'd suggest going for a different better quality acorn.
