Flickering wax grunged battery operated taper candle measures 4 1/2" in total length (including the bulb and the base.) It's made to fit candle holders approximately 1" in diameter.
The shaft underneath is white plastic. The candle has been covered in wax and has a wonderful grungy texture to it. The manufacturer describes this candle as a Burnt Mustard Cinnamon Small Taper. The yellowish wax is rolled in a grungy texture with a very faint, almost undetectable cinnamon scent.
The taper requires a single AA battery which is not included. The way you get into the candle (and turn it on and off) is by twisting off the cap on the bottom of the shaft.
The bulbs are actually soft plastic and they screw off to reveal an L.E.D. I'm not familiar enough with these things to say whether or not the lighting apparatus thingie can be replaced -- in all honesty, I would think not. The good thing is that L.E.D.'s last a long time and use very little battery power.
