I love this guy. If I had the room I could think of about a dozen places in my kitchen where he'd look great. He's not the least bit practical; he's just a fun display piece and would make a fine gift for a friend who collects chickens and roosters or decorates in the farmhouse look.
For country and primitive decorating, this vine rooster measures 14 inches long, 6 1/2 inches wide and about 9 inches tall. The design of this piece is actually quite artsy -- the rooster is made from a solid wire frame around which has been wound slender brown vines. The rooster's head and tail are part of the metal frame.
On the bottom of the rooster is a little mesh trap door. Inside he's filled with some excelsior-like natural bedding and a terra cotta egg (which I forgot to photograph.) If you like, you can remove the egg and stand it up next to him or leave it inside in its grassy nest. I think that a short set of string lights could add a lot of fun to this piece too.
