Attractive decorative resin plate set features a primitive pineapple folk art stencil design.
This set of plates is made to look REALLY old and worn. Not only are the edges sanded for a distressed appearance, they're finished with a dark brown stain which gives them a bit of a dusty look.
The largest of the three plates measures 10 3/4 inches in diameter. The medium plate is 8 1/2 and the smallest of the three measures about 5 1/2 inches across.
One of the things that I find interesting about this set is how it's scratched and gouged -- this can be seen in two of the photos below. The pineapple on the smallest plate has scratched out areas on both sides of it. On the medium and large plates, what appear to be horizontal strokes are actually carved gouges. The design is painted on top of them. The whole thing makes for a warm and very folk set of pieces which can be displayed individually, stacked or lined up.
