Both decorative and functional, this votive holder with an aged appearance features a quote by Helen Keller (which in all honesty is a bit difficult to make out clearly but the photo is enough to say it all.) The text reads "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched. They must be felt with the heart."
The votive holder has a wooden feel to it. It's made from particle board which is painted matte black. The edges of the holder have been sanded, allowing some of the color of the wood underneath to show through.
Adhered to the front of the holder is a yellowed black and white image of a child's hand touching an adult's hand at the fingertips. The votive holder measures about 3 1/4 inches square. There's a hole in the top of the holder into which the lipped glass container rests. The glass candle holder and the off-white unscented votive are indeed included.
