Attractive set of three nesting boxes for country and primitive decorating.
The boxes are paper mache and the insides of the boxes are unfinished. The boxes are painted black and highlighted with a lighter gray color along the edges and corners. The stars and text designs are done in sort of spattered yellow gold.
The largest of the three boxes has three folky stars and measures about 7 1/2 inches square by 4 1/2 inches tall. The medium box has a ragged edge sign stenciled onto it and reads the word "Stars." It measures 7 by 7 by 4 inches. The smallest box is 6 by 6 by 3 1/2 inches and is decorated with a single star. When stacked, the set of boxes is about 12 inches tall.
This set of nesting boxes is new but is manufactured to look old and a bit worn. The painting isn't perfect and the paper mache underneath the paint is not perfectly smooth. But all in all these are fairly well done and are charming prim pieces that are functional as well as decorative. This set of nesting boxes comes new from The Hearthside Collection.
