The finish on the pillar is called mustard; it's a golden brown wax with a slight amount of grungy coating.
A great item for primitive decorating -- this item comes as a set of a grungy battery operated tealight and a hollowed out wax pillar candle. Turn on the tealight, insert inside the wax pillar sleeve for a golden flickering glow.
The battery operated tealight is one of those plain white plastic ones underneath but it's been dipped in golden brown wax and rolled in a cinnamon grunge for a great prim look. The bottom of the candle has not been wax coated which makes it easy to change the batteries. There's an on-off swith on the bottom of the tealight and a slide door where the batteries go. The tealight does indeed come with batteries to start you off and will require 2 AG13 button cell batteries for replacements. On the bottom of the candle is a plastic pull tab which you'll have to remove before the tealight will work.
The tealight is about the size of a regular wax tea light at 1 1/2 inches in diameter and 3/4 inch high. The wax pillar sleeve is 2 1/2 inches tall by just short of 2 1/2 inches in diameter. When the tealight is glowing inside the sleeve, it flickers and gives the illusion of a real candle but without the flame. The candle doesn't throw scent like a real one but it does has a soft cinnamon fragrance.
