Very cool item. Flickering wax grunged battery operated taper candle measures 11" in total length (including the bulb and the base.) It's made to fit candle holders approximately 1" in diameter.
The shaft underneath is white plastic. The candle has been covered in wax and has an awesome bumpy grungy texture to it. The manufacturer describes this candle as a Burnt Mustard Cinnamon Large Taper. Burnt mustard cinnamon is a good description of the color -- it's a very dark golden brown but in all honesty, I can't detect any cinnamon scent to it. If a scent is there, it's lost on me so I'm assuming that cinnamon is descriptive of the color.
The taper requires two AA batteries which are NOT included. The way you get into the candle (and turn it on and off) is shown in one of the photos below. The bottom cap twists off and that's where the batteries go.
The bulbs are actually soft plastic and they screw off to reveal an L.E.D. I'm not familiar enough with these things to say whether or not the lighting apparatus thingie can be replaced -- in all honesty, I would think not. The good thing is that L.E.D.'s last a long time and use very little battery power.
