Very cool. Made from a single solid block of wood, this electric candle lamp reads "Hope."
It's very rustic in its styling -- the block was cut without great care. The wood is splintered and chipped along the back edges and these were simply painted over. The wood block itself measures about 6 3/4" wide by 5 1/2" high by about 1 1/2" thick. Including the candle stick the lamp measures about 7 3/4" tall.
The front of the wooden block was routered; the mitered corners and edges have been sanded and stained for a well-worn appearance. I'm guessing that the sheet metal from which the Hope plate on the front was cut must be steel -- some of our similar lamps are starting to show a hint of rust on their faceplates. The plate has a ground or etched look and there are scratches and other imperfections in the surface of the metal which are most likely natural to the sheet metal from which the plate was made.
The wooden block has a satin medium olive green painted finish. The electrical cord is black with an on/off switch. The PVC candle stick has has a drip-look styling and there's a cute little fluted 2 1/2" diameter metal drip pan at the base of the candle stick.
The socket holds a chandelier base size candle lamp bulb. There's no tag or any indication of the recommended size of bulb but as a general rule replacement bulbs for candle lamps should be no higher than 7 watts. The switch reads that the item is indeed UL Listed. The lamp does not include a bulb but I'm sure I can come up with one to get her started. This item is new but without any tags.
