Of all the items that make it into our shop, this one is at the top of my personal list of favorites. I think it would make a great gift for a primitive-loving friend or crafter.
The journal is on the small side measuring about 7 3/4" tall, 5 1/2" at the widest and 5/8" thick. The cover is a heavy cardboard that's been covered with a streaked texture, painted burgundy and stained to give it an old and well-loved appearance. There's a rusty key and a tag attached to the cover of the book. The key doesn't feel like metal -- to me it feels as if it's either plastic or resin but the key tag is indeed metal.
Inside the journal are a few dozen pages blank pages that look like they're made from recycled paper. The outside of the pages are trimmed with metallic gold.
Whether this item is actually used as a journal or notebook or simply as part of a display, it has an abundance of primitive charm. New with tag from Ohio Wholesale.
