This is a pretty cool piece -- it's a candle holder designed to look as if it were made from an old metal grain scoop.
The base is wooden and the top is tin sheeting with a star S-shape design. The wooden base is washed with a grayish stain and appears highly distressed. The metal upper piece is rusted and also appears as if it's been around a long time -- the rusty finish is very mottled and uneven; it's scratchy, splotchy and marred. How great! :)
The candle holder stands about 10 1/4" tall with a diameter of about 2 1/2". The inner candle well will accommodate a taper with about 7/8" base. The well is lined with a metal piece but the base surrounding the well is wooden so this candle holder would probably be better used as a decorative piece than as a functional one. If you decide to burn a candle in it just don't let the candle burn all the way down as a precaution. Remember, never leave a burning candle unattended!
