20 gauge wire is wrapped with a metallic red poly filaments which gives it a nice sparkle and shine. Good item for jewelry making, floral and many other kinds of crafting and decorating projects.
The cut ends of the filaments will indeed ravel and fray a bit so please keep this in mind when considering this wire's utility in your project. The header card reads "poly coated wire" so a pass over a flame would probably help to keep it from fraying.
The wire comes new in package as shown from Darice, one 3 yard length of wire per package.
