Heehee, cute little items. Darice markets this set for the popular 18" historical dolls. I'm a collector of these dolls myself so I double-checked the size of this little memory set with my Kit K. and I can honestly say that proportionally, it's not too far off the mark. The scissors are a bit oversized, but hey. (wink)
I realize that it's kinda hard to see what's inside the package but there are three pieces -- a little scrapbook, a pair of tiny scissors and a doll camera.
The 2 1/2" by 1 3/4" scrapbook has a red cover and perhaps a dozen or thereabouts white paper pages inside. The scrapbook really opens and the pages turn and all. It's held together simply by a cord laced through two holes. The 2 1/2" scissors do indeed open as well. They're somewhat blunt and not the least bit sharp but we should still take care giving items like this to our younglings. Darice suggests that the product is not intended for use by children under 6 years old.
The 1 1/2" little camera has no moving parts. It's just assembled from black and gray molded plastic pieces but again, youngsters have their ways of smashing any item into its individual atoms so please think age appropriate.
The doll memory set comes new from Darice, packaged as shown.
While we're on the subject of age appropriate, here's the story my oldest daughter Revere emailed me:
Her 3 year-old daughter Dannah came up to her one day and said "Mommy, I can't get the Polly Pocket shoe out." Vere (mother of 3 kids 7 and under) was busy as usual and was just about to brush Dannah's statement off but then stopped and thought better of it. Vere asked "Dannah, exactly where IS the Polly Pocket shoe?" Dannah pointed up her nose. Revere and Jason ran to get a flashlight, shined it up Dannah's nose and sure enough, there was a tiny pink rubber Polly Pocket shoe up there. Jason was able to retrieve it with a pair of tweezers. With kids, ya just never know.
