This little folk art candy corn decoration for Halloween decorating is cut from 3/4" thick solid wood with carved edges and is grooved between the sections of color. It's finished to look very rustic -- the paint (which is actually more of a wash) is sanded to allow some of the underlying wood to show through and there's a layer of dark stain over the paint.
The wood is thick enough so the candy corn stands on its own. There's a little wooden star topper attached by black coiled wire. Including the topper it measures about 6" tall. The carved wooden candy corn comes new with tag from Darice.
This is a Chinese import but the detailing on these is still done by hand. While the overall style of the candy corn decorations remains the same from piece to piece, each one varies slightly from the one that it shown in the photo (the sanded spots vary, direction of the wood grain, heaviness of the stain, etc.)
